Acting Classes

Rachel E. Smith has been teaching classes and workshops since 2016. She has worked at Prairie Theatre Exchange and Manitoba Theatre for Young People; has facilitated workshops at Panache Management and the University of Manitoba as well as in schools throughout the Winnipeg School Division. Rachel has taught a range of classes from theatre performance and acting for the camera to theatre creation and basic filmmaking for kids. 

At the beginning of 2025, Rachel took the next step in her teaching career by developing her own acting program. She now develops programming in communities. Currently she is working with Lord Roberts Community Centre and RETLife in the River East Transcona School Division.

Drama Adventure

Ages 6-9

Kids are introduced to the world of acting through fun games, interactive adventures and playful performance. These classes are great for kids who love playing pretend, storytelling and who have a flair for drama.

Acting Discovery

Ages 10-13

Kids will learn how to become different characters, explore different ways to tell stories and develop improv skills. These classes nurture creativity and build confidence all while having fun.

Engaging Theatre

Ages 14-17

Teens will develop essential acting skills through character development, improv games, and scene exploration. This class can accommodate first time actors as well as students who have taken previous classes. 

Crafting Performance

Ages 18+

Learn how to get into the mind of a character, how to develop your physical and vocal awareness for performance and how to bring the imagined world to the stage. This class is great for people who love to act and want to further develop their skills as well as for those who want to try acting for the first time.

Playful Performance 

Ages 7 – 9 

This class introduces kids to the world of acting through fun games, creative adventures and playful performances. It’s perfect for children who love to use their imagination, tell stories, and bring characters to life.

Drama Explorers 

Ages 10 – 12

Kids will discover how to step into different characters, explore creative storytelling and build improv skills. These classes encourage imagination and boost confidence all while having fun!
