Acting Classes
Rachel E. Smith is an experienced arts educator and performance coach of ten years. She has taught at numerous performance focused schools throughout Winnipeg. Combining her work as a teacher with her passion for community building, Rachel now develops and runs her own community-based programming.
Below is the list of classes that Rachel teaches. Availability varies per term and community. If you are interested in taking a class that is not currently on offer, get in touch with Rachel! The more interest there is for a class, the more likely she is to run it.
Ages 6-9
Kids are introduced to the world of acting through fun games, interactive adventures and playful performance. These classes are great for kids who love playing pretend, storytelling and who have a flair for drama.
Ages 10-13
Kids will learn how to become different characters, explore different ways to tell stories and develop improv skills. These classes nurture creativity and build confidence all while having fun.
Ages 14-17
Teens will develop essential acting skills through character development, improv games, and scene exploration. This class can accommodate first time actors as well as students who have taken previous classes.
Ages 18+
Learn how to get into the mind of a character, how to develop your physical and vocal awareness for performance and how to bring the imagined world to the stage. This class is great for people who love to act and want to further develop their skills as well as for those who want to try acting for the first time.
Ages 55+
Discover the joy of acting in a welcoming and supportive environment designed for adults aged 55+. Students will be introduced to character development, light movement and vocal expression, and fun improvisation games. This class is a great way to be creative, try something new and connect with others.
